SimuChat for Windows
The free app that gets your iMessages and SMS from your iPhone, over a USB cable, and prepares them for SimuChat. Nothing is sent over the internet: everything happens on your PC.
The app isn't available for download yet. Come back a little later.
📱 iPhone onlyFor Android, WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok, no app needed: follow the import guide.
🔒 100% on your PCMessages only leave your computer when you import the file into SimuChat yourself.
⚡ A few minutesOnly messages and contacts are copied, not photos or apps.
Before you start
- A PC running Windows 10 or 11 and your iPhone's USB cable.
- Nothing else to install: the first time, SimuChat checks that Apple's USB driver is there and, if it's missing, offers to install it in one click (free, from the Microsoft Store).
- If your iPhone backups are encrypted, the backup password (the one chosen in iTunes or Apple Devices, not the iPhone passcode).
How it works
- Download SimuChat.exe and double-click it. The first time, choose your language (the app is available in 7 languages).
- Plug in your iPhone, unlock it and tap Trust This Computer if asked.
- Click Back up & export from the iPhone. Keep the iPhone plugged in and its screen on during the copy (a few minutes).
- The app creates the file
Export-iMessage-SimuChat.zip on your Desktop.
- In SimuChat, click 📥 and drop this file: all your conversations appear, and you choose which ones to keep.
- At the end, the app offers to erase the iPhone copy it made on the PC: accept. Also delete the ZIP file once imported.
An iPhone backup already on the PC (iTunes, Apple Devices, iMazing) is recognised: you can then extract the messages without plugging the iPhone in again.
“Windows protected your PC”
The first time, Windows may show this warning, because the app is new and doesn't have a paid signing certificate yet. To open it: click More info, then Run anyway.
Your antivirus may also scan it for a few seconds before launching it: that's normal for a downloaded app.
Check that the file is genuine (advanced)

To compare it: in PowerShell, type Get-FileHash $HOME\Downloads\SimuChat.exe.
A problem?
- The iPhone isn't detected: use the original cable, unlock the iPhone, relaunch SimuChat (it checks Apple's driver again), then unplug and plug it back in.
- “Incorrect password”: it's the iPhone backup password, not the unlock passcode. Forgotten it? On the iPhone: Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset All Settings (your data stays), then relaunch the app.
- The copy stops halfway: the iPhone locked itself. Temporarily set Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock to “Never”.
Details for every app are in the import guide.
